I think shake's usually matches the border color and the base color on the dominant color of the icon. Most but not all as some have black borders as well. The black border only looks good on light backgrounds. On black or dark wallpapers, the border obviously blends in and the icon looks smaller. I like that the border kinda matches or highlights the icons. It works well with the original icons from op.
