Do I need to be on a specific kernel to flash this, or is rooted stock OK to flash this from. I don't see a list of issues, are there any known issues with this ROM?

No...when you flash this there's a kernel baked in it like any other rom you flash.

mp3 has a mind of its own!
This is driving me nuts!! One of the things that this ROM had was an "MP3 of the Day" widget, which included one song, "The Fox." I decided to keep it, even though I removed the widget form Sense.
Frankly, I'd forgotten about it until yesterday. All of a sudden the mp3 file plays at any particular time of the day. Really annoying when it fires off at 4:30am, like it did this morning. It's not set as my ring tone, and I've never set it as a notification sound either, and it doesn't seem tied to any particular event either.
Anyone else experiencing this problem? If so, were you able to solve it? Driving me crazy and short of deleting the mp3 file, not sure how to deal with it.

Trying a test for possible hardware issues
was told to try another rom for testing hardware. Problem is I need to know what radio to use on this rom and where to download it from please. I read that the kernel is already baked in so that helps. I am coming back from Santod's NuSense ReBorn which uses the newest dual radio to allow it to work so any assistance is appreciated. Thanks.

You probably don't have to flash the old radios. Make a new backup of your current rom, flash this one, get a GPS lock using the GPS app and then restore your backup and see if that helps.

It should work fine. The only time a rom is radio specific is if there is a line in the build prop designating a specific radio or if the ril was tailored around a specific radio.

1) I think the MR4 radio is the best radio. I have not had any connectivity issues whatsoever, and I consistently get 12mb/12mb up and down all over Los Angeles. But as always, YMMV and you should try different radios out.
2) The time issue is a minor nuisance. It happens after every reboot, but just set it to your timezone and it wont come up again until another reboot. I only have to reboot on this ROM once ever 4-5 days, if that, so I dont consider it an issue. You can also just uncheck the autotime zone thing and it probably wont even come up at all.
3) leanKernel not required but highly recommended. I wish TS would make it the default Kernel as the battery and performance using leanKernel is utterly phenomenal and far superior to stock HTC.
Obviously I've become a converted fanboy of this ROM. But thats because its the first Sense ROM that, in my mind, is better than Bamf Forever which I had been using for MONTHS. And many newer ROM's came out since the final release of Bamf, but I'd always go back... until now. Thunderstick may not have quite as many niftty little customizations, but for people looking for a ROM with superior performance and outstanding battery life with Sense 3.0, this is it.22
you can also use theme porter to theme the rom with your favorite theme.
