Default InfoWorld poops on GNote

I didn't see this posted yet and I searched - if it has been posted I apologize and I'll remove this. I know these are a bit tiresome but I have to admit sometimes they are kind of funny to read.

Even though I don't have my Note yet, the real user reviews I've read so far, unless they've all been shills by Samsung employees, would seem to contradict the notion of the Note as a "pathetic failure". I guess I'll know later today...

That's because they're clueless. They're reviewing it as a Tablet, which it is not. All of the respectable reviewers (Engadget, CNET, etc.) are treating it like a phone with some tablet features. It is not supposed to be competing with tablets.

I didn't get through the whole thing, but he complained that there was no split keyboard option "like the iPad" for landscape mode, and that the stock browser reports the device as a phone, so mobile websites load by default.

30 seconds in the Market should solve both concerns. So I figured there was no reason to read the rest of it.

Minus BGR who had a rather disturbing review on it.

yeah that "reviewer" writes books on apple products and that article he wrote is so biased I don't think he even tried to make it sound fair.

That is by far the worst review I've ever read. I've read reviews from Engaget & CNET and it's more reliable.

Any Apple fanboys reviewing an Android phone will always give it a low rating. Apple logo is imprinted on their brain to think it's the best phone there is and no one can beat. Have a friend that tried to talk me out of getting the Note and get iPhone instead. Never.

Lately I have seen quite a few negative (or negative leaning) reviews (Walt Mossberg etc..) of the Note. This has surprised me.

The common theme in these reviews revolves around the fact that the GNote is large - too large to hold to the side of one's head and too large to control with one hand.

It strikes me that instead of viewing it as a new type of phone they are down on it because it isn't a small phone (like the iPhone) - and therefore deficient in some way.

They just seem to miss the point, completely.

What steve jobs started was a cult following if you think about it. Most people who use apple products religiously are not even tech savvy from my experience.
