Default Interfere with OTA ICS?

So far rooting my Note has been the ONLY thing I've done so that I could kill/remove some of the bloatware, no CWM even.

Will I be able to run the OTA ICS update that is announced for tomorrow or will I need to do a whole flash back to stock first? And is that going to be because of the root setup or because of expected pre-load packages not being present?

To answer my own question (and potentially anyone else's as well): NO - having rooted my phone and removed apps with 'root uninstaller' did not prevent the ICS upgrade when going through KIES. It performed beautifully and now I have a nice 4.0.4 note - yay!

On a side topic, it seems that all the apps I removed with root uninstaller appear to still be un-protected, and I was able to remove (or disable) a great portion of junk that was re-installed by the ICS update, without needing to re-enable root.

My 'custom counter' and firmware 'custom' flags were tripped but again the official update via KIES didn't appear to give a rat's ass and ran without a single complaint.

Flash this afterwards if you just want stock rooted - SuperSU

Or

Just download a custom rom from the threads and flash it after flashing the CWM Odin because they are all pre-rooted

Is there a dedicated ICS Odin or is the one I used for GB (Odin3 v1.85) fine?
EDIT: Odin3 v1.85 works fine

I just got a new unrooted note and upgraded to ICS 4.0.4. Is there a root process yet?

No sir, see the post above urs?

I flashed the touch CWM and then flashed the super user...see my links for GNote for the CWM touch....then the super user flash for root....or once you have CWM if your going to a custom ROM just flash the ROM....

but if you stay stock this what I did:

odin cwm touch....
flashed super user in cwm....

root works perfect

good luck with that, DA_G hasn't been around for a long while, it would be great for him to grace us with his presence and hook us up but he's been MIA on XDA, who knows but I'm sure we'll have a few custom kernels very soon.
. Did I help you? Hit the thanks button!
