Arrow Lock key and backlight problem (B7610)

First I noticed that my Lock button doesn't work anymore. When I press it, nothing happens. I thought it's a bug or something so I flashed different Roms but the problem still exists...
it is not a hardware problem, because i can hard reset my device normally.
When the phone goes to stand-by mode, it stays off for one second and then it turns the screen and backlight back on. That runs my battery out quite quickly.
I have searched forum for this problem, but did not find any answer.

Is there a solution for this??

I've had the same problem with my Omnia i8000.
But my Phone will come back on only if I am listening to Music.
Does this happen to you while listening to Music ? If Yes, then just turn the volume one step down. Thats a workaround I've found for my phone.

Amazing... You are my lifesaver...I have been facing this problem since last one month.
Your idea worked for me but can you tell why this problem occurs? and this is a temporary solution...Is there any permanent solution to this problem?

Greetings to all. I had this problem for a while. I solved it with 2 programs - the first is AEButton and the second Smart Lock. I mapped the W&L button to "lock device"(AEButton). After that going to SmartLock ticked: Lock screen and then stand-by. In this way I used the W&L buttons as lock key. Worked for me, hope it works for you!

P.S. I am using custom rom without the touchwiz interface, I dont know if that makes any difference!

EDIT: It fixes the issue partly...the screen pops out every 20 seconds or so.... Seems to me it is a hardware problem. Flashing with different ROMs doesn`t seem to work.
