MHL is not working. Plz advised

I am using a XXLPH custom rom , does it effect the usability of the MHL function? Anyway to fixed it

I don't know if my answer will be also valid for ICS but I had a Custom ROM based on XWKK5 and I was not able to use a MHL cable. I tried with my Stock ROM backup and it was working ...
So to know if it's a cable issue or a ROM issue, I would recommend that you restore a stock ROM backup (if you have one of course).
