Some basic questions about Galaxy Tab 8.9
Hi guys!
I recently purchased a Galaxy Tab 8.9. Now, I have a few beginner's questions to ask before I go ahead.
I would like to root my Galaxy Tab 8.9. How easy is it? And how easy is it to screw it up? Will I cause a permanent damage to the device if I screw it up? Is screwing up or permanent damage such as hard brick even possible?
I would also like to install ICS/CM9 on it. But, I also intend to use this device for Video calls over VOIP (using Skype). I believe that that this device does NOT have official ICS yet. But is it going to get one (i.e. Samsung planning to upgrade this and if so, is there a timeline?). And I also note that ICS/CM9 ROMs don't have camera working. Is there a way to work around this so that I may run CM9 and still have camera? Else, what is the best ROM you guys suggest for a person who needs a usable camera?
I want to be careful with this device, as I just bought it and I don't want to screw it up and end up with a $400 paper weight. So, please let me know if it is safe to root and install ROMs on it.
Thank you!
