Default Mount USB Storage on OSX?

By default, the Note connects to PC/OSX as an MTP device. While not an issue on the PC with the correct drivers, on OSX it seems I'm unable to browse the storage. I couldn't figure out how to mount the Note as a usb storage device - is this possible?

It's a little unintuitive, but first you have to have the phone unplugged via USB. Go to settings, then Wireless. Then you go to USB utilities. Then press "Connect Storage to PC", and THEN plug in the cable.

DONATE TO ME
I thought this was strange. But whatever. Took me like 12 hours to find the USB mount option.

This only works with ICS devices, but I tried it anyway and it crashes with the Gnote connected, it works fine with my Transformer Prime.

Not true, that's for Honeycomb and ICS, Android File Transfer doesn't see the Galaxy Note.

So glad I found this thread, I'm a "Power User" and was going insane that I couldn't get the damn thing connected

Been trying this over and over and my Note still won't mount to a Mac running 10.7.3. Tried going into USB Debugging mode but it won't let you have that on and a USB connection at the same time.

Any other thoughts? Thanks.
