Hi!

Basically......

What happened is that the plug part (the bit where the adapter twists in) of the charger broke.
It accidently touched one of my other experimental USB devices. Won't go in to too much detail. To make a long story short, there was a short.
It completely blew up my USB device (made the circuit board go ka-put!, blew the casing apart, burnt out the USB connector, destroyed the wires, made a mark in the carpet, etc.), strained my eyes ('cos of the light), oh, and did I mention the adapter broke. Well, really, mainly the connection part, haven't checked the insides. Normally, I'd try to repair it myself, but if I do it wrong, my phone might also go ka-put!

Basically, do you think I will be able to get a replacement from HTC?
Could I just say there was some moisture?
BTW, my phone is unlocked and rooted, but at the time it was safely lying on the bed a safe distance from all this. There is not even a remote chance it had anything to do with this.

I got the phone from eBay. It is stock phone (no branding, just like HTC gave it to me)

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, please move it if it's not correct.

Thanks

for just the charger?

i personally wouldn't bother. micro-usb chargers are cheap and available practically everywhere.

No. I mean the sort of thing that has 3 pins, that plugs into the socket. Forgot the name, oh wait, it's plug.
