[Q] Optimus V/S?

I don't have this phone but my friend does, well he has the Optimus S. Are they the same phone? Can I use ROMs and rooting stuff for they V on the S? Thanks in advance for your reply :)

AFAIK the only difference between S and V is the carrier.
Optimus V is Virgin Mobile (Which is actually a daughter company of Sprint)
and Optimus S is Sprint.
They are both CDMA so they can both use the same ROMs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, anybody?

I think there are small differences, such as button mapping. IHO has a special Optimus S CM7 ROM, so don't worry, your friend can have some Cyanogen on his phone too
