I think they were referring to the size of the rom download file. I am only seeing 401 megs.
Current:
Phone: T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 (SGH-T999)
ROM: Official stock JB from T-Mobile
Recovery: Stock

Tablet: Acer Iconia A500
ROM: CM10 Jelly Bean 4.1 by waydownsouth
Recovery: Thor's 1.7 Touch Recovery of CWM

If I do not Thank your thread, it's because of the XDA Classic forum theme, sorry...

Hi Civato and all,

pacificwing made a great discovery and found the reason, why Thor's 14.2 HC ROM got an immediate sat fix, while all Acer ROMs require much more time. It is a small file lto.dat that needs to be placed in /data/gps. Here is the post, where he explained this. It really works!

Just be aware that deleting AGPS assistance data will also delete lto.dat in /data/gps. Then, you just have to copy it back, and you again will get an immediate sat fix.

Best regards, maris

I, just for giggles, tried copying the lto.dat file into my data/gps folder. Then turned on GPS Status to see how long it would take to lock on to my position. Literally took all of 4 seconds. So at least in the short term, it definately speeds up lock time in a rather dramatic fashion. Thanks for the info, and I will keep checking to see if it has a long term effect as well.

Default question about app

I managed to flash flexreaper with my broken sd slot and it works great overall. One app, CoolReader, doesn't seem to like it though. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing cache and it just hangs when you open it. Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you for your work on this ROM.

Thanks for the info. Tried GPS before copying the file, after 2 minutes, found 4 satellites, not locked on any. Put file in data/GPS and tried again, locked on 7 satellites in under 10 seconds.

confirmed the GPS lto.dat file is working! I am contented now, after suffering slow GPS for so long since hc 3.0

if you use GPS Status to reset, the file will be gone and locking will he slow again.

Locked on 11/11 sat in no time inside a moving vehicle, crazy!!
