Just tried what you suggested still no lock searching for GPS but it can sort of find me if that makes sense anyone else having this problem

When you switched from aokp to cm9 did you:
•format data
•clear cache
•clear dalvik cache
•format /system
•format /data

+1 I have had the the most success when doing a full wipe (and then some). its kind of a pain but TOTALLY worth it!

bummer. i have no luck with wireless tether either. both with built in and third party. How can I help OP?

and i am also have the GPS issue. i think the GPS works for me, it just takes forever to lock on. about 5 minutes.

i was having a similar issue with slim's rom. eventually, i restored a stock nandroid i had saved. while it was loaded up, i used gps status to reset gps state and download a new assist file. after that, it locked within 10 seconds. reloaded my slim nandroid and it locked in around 5 seconds. prior to that, it had been taking several minutes, if at all.

anyway, might be worth a try.
