Alright, first let me tell you this may not make one bit of a difference. It really should not make a difference. Really.

But let's try it anyway.

1. Copy that folder to your sd card in case you ever want to replace it (for testing, etc).
2. In Root Explorer long press the 'throttle' folder and hit permissions
3. Make sure only 'read' and 'execute' boxes are checked in the 'owner' row. 'write' should be unchecked.
4. Once you're done, click inside the 'throttle' folder and delete both files
5. Reboot to cwm, wipe cache and dalvick cache just to be sure.
6. Reboot

Try that. Then find a place with a decent signal and do some tests. Then find a place with a weak signal and do some tests.

What phone did you use before this one and when you put your Tmobile sim in that phone what speeds do you get.

Thanks.

Just to throw out a simple question- do you have a t-mobile reg sim card or are you using prepaid? The $3/day prepaid is 4g data. The $2/day is 2g data. The monthly prepaid plans are 4g. Can it be this simple?
SG Note- Jedi/SOA GalaxyNexus-Flapps unofficial 12/17
Nexus 7 tab TF101/dock
It doesn't cost anything to be nice and say thank you!

I agree. That's why I want him to put his sim in his girlfriend's phone and report back. But since he's not home yet, just thought we'd try something.

By the way, I'm doing some side by side tests at home with my neighbor's T989 and we're pretty much even. About 1.5MBps to about 2Mbps.

See thats why it drives me nuts! When I'm at home my tmobile sim on the note is faster than my red pocket (AT&T) but get me away from here and the red pocket blows it away..but put my tmobile sim in a tmobile phone and it blows red pocket out of the water away from home...I AM DETERMINED TO FIND OUT WHY...
Galaxy Note 2 on US Cellular. Nexus 4 on AT&T. Nexus 7. HTC Evo and Verizon MiFi 2200 on Verizon PrePaid.

Yeah. That and the reception issues. Is anyone willing to teardown their Note and provide some pics?

Thats the other thing...I have good reception away from home but get worse speeds. Its my only phone but I will consider it if I can get another in the mean time. I have taken apart a many phone...

Awesome. The Skyrocket-AT&T-T-Mobile thread has a really good theory but a good high res teardown is what is needed now.

I could have sworn someone posted tear down pics but it might have been for the international version. I'll see if I can find them. (Whichever they were.)

Yeah. that was the International one. And I posted a link to the Samsung teardown of this one in the mod threadd but the images are low res and the important information is conveniently generic. Do look though. and I hope find some!!!!!!
