Default [Q] so about 1.4.2

I just noticed all the hubub about the offical 1.4.2 update, and the Nook Tablet 8Gb version... and on the barnes, and noble site I noticed that the 8gig version states 5gb for user storage, and 1 reserved for BN store content....

does that also mean the the 1.4.2 update changed our partition tables around the allow us 11gb user storage, and 1gb BN store content?

I don't believe that's what the update was for. But I heard starting in March, you can take your NT into a Barnes and Noble store to repartition your device. Or you can do it manually.

DONATE TO ME
No way, a repartition must be manually done because all data is lost while in the process, so you have to make a backup first to restore after repartition. Anyway a repartition as an update it is not safe because of what i mentioned "data" and also because if something goes wrong for average users is hard to try to fix it and so they will just return the device or send it back to fix, so send an update like that first i don't think it can be done and second it does not have much sense.

I definitely can't imagine them changing automatically for many reasons.

As for losing all of your data, perhaps I've missed something, but why wouldn't they be able to shrink/grow the partitions? If you've got a quick answer it'd be cool, if not I'll search for more info.

EDIT: Nevermind, I didn't realize that parted wasn't able to modify the ext4 partition. For those looking here's the thread on repartitioning: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1355970

I just did the parted based resize and it sure takes a long time, Im sure B&N does not want to tie up staff for 30 min per nook tablet
