Soooo, did you get it done by a site or by an "indian guy"? I have proof that using a SIM unlock doesn't change any status of the bootloader. So, where's your proof that your SIM unlocked changed your bootloader?

To start off i got two phones and to finish off i did manage to unlock my bootloader after a sim lock by code and one in my local shop (in fact i did this 3 times as i managed to do it to my cousin phone as well today brand new xperia s from 3 ) if it does not work for you then maybe its because you have a lt26a i used an lt26i but i doubt thats the reason your does not work( if you have tried it that is).cant really explained it how it works i just put the sim lock code and reset the phone and there it was (unlock bootloader-YES)
~I CAN SHOW YOU A SCREEN SHOT SAYING (BOOT-LOADER UNLOCK ALLOWED-YES) BUT THAT FOES NOT PROVE NOTHING SO ITS EITHER YOU TRY IT FOR YOURSELF OR JUST WAIT UNTIL A DEV COMES OUT WITH ANOTHER METHORD.

Post a screen shot and the TMN letter saying that you bougth the phone there.

I can Google for a screenshot too, but I'm not going to do that. I do have a LT26i, and for me, (and a couple of other users on the forum) it still says No. I'd bet if it could change to Yes so easily then we'd have a couple of threads explaining this method instead of a couple of threads bitching how they can't unlock the bootloader.

Maybe you're telling the truth, maybe with the way your carrier crippled the phone it allows for Bootloader unlocks. But for now, the majority of people are saying it doesn't do it.

once a contract is paid out or it expires, the phone becomes the customer's property... that i guess is a valid reason why paying oneself out of contract ^possibly^ can deem the bootloader unlockable too...

because the only reason simlocked phones are bootloader locked too because the phone remains property of the carrier....

this is what i infer out of the discussion i had with my cousin who bought a verizon branded galaxy nexus from usa

My case is closed so its just a case off believing me and try it for yourselves or just wait for a dev to find a way arround it. all my manuals are in portuguese!!

My phone is a lease phone, yep it is.
So it is provider property all the way, however my provider never sold me a sim locked phone before so i just give it a try.

My status for unlock bootloader was yes! And so i did succesfull unlocked the bootloader,
A device provided by operator does not neccesary have a sim lock, i have to add the device has no bloatware installed

1) That is "Bravia engine" hampered as i did the unlocking bootloader ??! If its fine, can i be able to check it by seing any difference somewhere (like from a video/image on internet or how?!) of it being in on n off.

2) I am on official ics updated from Sony PC Companion 2.1, the Xloud just shows difference on loud speaker(getting loud n dim) but not in the earphones anymore when playing music. I know it showed difference both ways(on loud speaker and in earphones turning it on n off the music used to get loud and dim) on gingerbread ..
So is it just a modification in ics that xloud on/off effect doesn't works anymore in earphones?! or is this an error happening due to unlocking bootloader ?! and xloud still should work both ways on ics?!

Would highly appreciate anyone's affirmative answer on this!
