Boot into recovery, go to developer menu and select install su, then reboot and install superuser from the market. You will then be perm rooted.

I tried this on the new Unofficial Offical release and it did not work for me. I can't use adb due to restrictions on my computer so I am trying to figure out a way to do it through recovery. I tried Amon 3.14 but that did not work for me it installed SuperUser but does not give me root access. Anyone have any ideas ???? Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for the response. I tried what you said but it did not work. Not only do I not have root but when my phones boots up the superuser app does not show up on my app list. I did make sure I was under all apps also. Any other thoughts :/

Edit: I also install superuser from the market then it worked thanks for the help
