Download a UCLE2 rom that has yellow pages removed from contacts. Use root explorer to extract the apk. Move it to system/apps.

As this may work the files are a different version and a big difference in size too. I would prefer the UCLF5 one if possible.

Contacts.apk is no longer working

So, I screwed up. I copied the modified apk and changed the file permissions but the app no longer loads. It gives me the "unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped." I tried reinstalling the contacts.stock.apk file (I changed the name and permissions also) but same error. How can I fix this?

I have a back up of my original contacts apk on titanium.

I had the same problem. I renamed the contacts.odex to contacts-old.odex and rebooted. The new contacts started working after that. Hope that fixes it for you.
