/sys/class/misc/notification/led_timeout

change value with root explorer, if you want 3 sec--> 3000

For some very strange reason, I adjusted the backlight time to 2500 and that fixed my Autokill problem. I used ES File Explorer and adjusted the the text file!

Give it a whirl.

In your opinion, is the latest version worth the update? Or is it just the same in general?

Changed value to 1500 (1.5 sec) /sys/class/misc/notification/led_timeout and back to kill works properly. It's an issue with thoravukk kernel as well. So not ROM related

Confirmed. I set it to 500 and Autokill works then, too. When set to 1, so that you almost can't see it, then Autokill doesn't work, too.
But... I like my BLN off, so I'll have to try another Kernel. (BTW latest thoravukk acts same like stock - didn't find a solution to turn BLN completely off).
