i am practically new here and wanted to ask how i may install this rom step by step given that my cha cha has the following:

i enetered bootloader:

CHA CHA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1,07,000
MICROP-557
RADIO 7,51,35,19
SEP 152011, 15:15,58

Andriod Version 2.3.5

Software Version
1.54.401.2

i can't seem to change my CID. when i do the write cid command, it says

(bootloader) [ERR] Command error !!!
OKAY [ 0.000s]
finished. total time: 0.000s

what is the difference between the two roms? the 1.22 and the 1.54

i restored my recovery to stock and downloaded the update but when it reaches the point to install it upon restart, a phone icon with red X appears.whats the solution to that? and what is new in that RUU?
