[Q] Help-How to stop Video Camera autofocus???

Well, I've had a good look around now and can't find a thing on this so maybe some one can help.

I was at a Rammstein gig the other night and managed to get some awesome video footage.

The only thing that let me down was the auto focus constantly in and out... when it sticks with it..its cristal clear...

looked through the settings, nothing. would be happy with touch to focus, like when taking a pic.
Any thing I can do?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't see a way of changing focus on video recording on the stock app, but you can use lgCamera (lgCamcorder) which will let you set fixed focus.

Shame, have taken a look at lgcamera before. Don't think its as nice as the stock.

Why what? Why Samsung didn't include it in the stock camera app? I think only they know the answer.

No, not why didn't they include it (god only knows why not)

More why can't we "tweak" the apk?

If you turn off full hd 1080p video recording (only use 720p) it doesn't focus in and out like that, and the quality is still very clear

Finaly a workable solution!

Thank you, wasn't aware of this
Will prob use it from now on. Doesn't seem to focus at all. True test will be testing with flashing lights.

Still, no one has managed to answer why we can't mod it?
