Question [Q] N2A Cards...

Hi Guys,

For the record, I don't own a Nook, nor do I know the first thing about it, but I am here for a friend.

He is considering getting one of these:

http://www.n2acards.com/

The strength of that is of course that it's plug and play and it does NOT void anything from Nook, in terms of warranty and etc. I read through some text here and online in general, but nothing seems to clear it, beyond a doubt for me, that the solution mirrors what they claim on that website.

Seeing how every one of these solutions are born on the XDA, I thought I'd drop a line here and ask you guys exactly which thread/method, and etc do I use from here to mirror exactly what they claim on that site, with an SD Card of my own?

I understand it MAY not be possible and buying it might be the only option, still, appreciate all your help in advance, thank you for reading...

Thanks for your response! Can anyone confirm that the method those N2A guys are using is the same EXACT method that Albert Wertz used in his SD Cards?

If so, then how can the site folks claim that your Nook will NOT lose Factory Warranty when using their method, when the Albert Wertz method actually roots the device and etc?

Just confused, appreciate ANY help, thanks!

N2A cards do not modify the device. At all. Using an sdcard to root/flash internal rom modifies the device.

Albert recently uploaded a new video showing how to boot from the sd card alone. This method will not change your NT at all, thereby leaving your warranty intact.

Hope the video shows this is my first attempt...if not the vid is: CM7 SD ROM, Turn anyone's Nook Tablet into yours without Root

Take $35, flush it down the toilet. Then make your SD card for free.

Should be a very similar experience.

fattire, I couldn't agree with you more. I have been a member of XDA and an Android modder for a while, but because I don't own the NT, this has been hard for me to put 2 and 2 together, as I am doing this for a friend.

I hear the method they have to n2a.com or whatever has been stolen from XDA. I'd rather donate to the member here on XDA, than give my money to those idiots.

But I am extremely confused... can someone give me the link to the thread that uses the EXACT method that those N2A guys used? One that DOESN'T void any warranties and etc?

I would really appreciate it, thanks guys!

I would assume this is what you're after. Can't say this is exactly what they are using though.

Thanks Morohtar,

That looks promising...

Can others please confirm that this is the method that you Nook2Android.com guys are using?

Thank you very much for your help!

I don't think you fully understand.

The N2A guys are likely not here. The people that are here are either using N2A cards, that were already created. Or they are creating cards via the rom in that thread.

In other words, the N2A company allows a user to buy an sd card that they can insert in their nook and boot into CM7 (Android 2.3.4), without modifying the internal memory (i.e. modifying the nook in any way).

You can however do the exact same thing and create the exact same card yourself by following directions and using the rom in the linked thread.
