B7610 Rom Restoring

Hi.
A friend of mine is wondering to try a Rom, a cooked Rom from Daskalos.
But he is afraid that if he doesn't like the Rom, he will lose all the programs and application that he as installed on the current Rom.
So what i want to ask you if it's possible to restore someway the "things" that he have on the current rom, maybe using some kind of programs.

What i need to reinstall are the cab's not sms. contacts etc...
I've herad about xda uc_net...can i use it for this purpose?
