Wow. So it'll be like Amazon's store and iTunes rolled into one. Awesome.

Website doesn't list any date for the update. Just that it's coming.

it was as per my inside sources rolled out in the US today,,,
not sure on other parts of the world.....

I opened market earlier today and it gave me the Terms and Conditions prompt again, but this time for Google Play. But no update on the market app itself. I wonder if they start pushing it to my region, would I need to go back to stock to get it?

installed it, nothing changed on the UI, only the icon

Edit: i uninstall market and installed Google play.... nothing change ...
