I'm not the best person to speak about battery as don't monitor it like most as don't care as long as it lasts me till I go to bed then goes on charge every night regardless of what's left so could have wakelocks and not notice. Only reason I picked up on the email is coz it used 20% battery in a couple of hours which normally would be 1-5% in a normal day.

actually, there is no marketupdater.apk in slim ics, so market will not update itself. i think it is also removed because after an automatic update dpi fix will be lost.

just download a dpi-fixed market.apk there should be plenty boards/blogs offering newest modified market version.

oh and replace 'market' with 'play store'. still used to write that word

I've tried numerous GB and ICS ROMs and find the battery life on this to be more than double what I could ever get on GB or the other ICS ROMs. I'm a fairly heavy e-mail and sync user (gmail and 3 other email accounts as well as numerous other syncing apps) but haven't used the stock email app for some time (I use Kaiten) - perhaps that's why I quite easily get 2 days now when I used to battle to get through 8 - 10 hours. Why not try one of the many alternative email apps and see if it makes a difference?

Anyone else noticing unusual battery drain in Siyah 3.1rc2 with 3.3? Just spending around 45 minutes on the XDA app with just whatsapp running in the background has drained around 5%.

That seems about right to me I lose about 1% every 5-10 minutes reading on tapatalk on lowest brightness setting. Seems reasonable and that's on both stock and Siyah.
