I know it was (unfortunately) legally ok, in fact we're not going to sue them. We only want to show them that we want the dongle in a tangible way, since (at least ASUS Italy) still says "The dongle doesn't add value to the Prime, nearly all our users are very satisfied, the Prime is not to be intended for that use". The last one makes me really angry: THEY tell US what we should and shouldn't do with our 599€-worth Primes.

TQUOTE=cm0901;25101253]You're right, there was no GPS on the box, and the specs was removed before the European launch.

BUT this was true for ALL Europe. Why only Italy and Greece are left out?

Moreover, there was no price reduction for pulling the GPS out. So we paid the same money everywhere. Again, why I paid for a Prime without a proper GPS and without a dongle, while other people around the world paid the same but will have the GPS dongle? Even if they know that GPS isn't in the specs?

Moreover, do you know what's funny? If I were to buy a tablet TOMORROW in Switzerland, I'm elegible for the dongle.

Plus, ASUS VIP site says "Everyone who purchased". Not "Everyone who purchased before the GPS was pulled out from the specs".

I think we have reasons to ask for it.[/QUOTE]

Totally agree with you!

I believe they state on their site "all Prime users".
To me it seams like they don't care about customers in certain countries!

have you read threads about stress fractures from hinge on dock ?
holding it by gps dongle will put more stress than opening & closing tab while docked

Incorrect my friend GPS was removed from ASUS site on December, 30th:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...ht=gps+removed

Moreover, IIRC, Prime was released in UK slight before than the rest of Europe; maybe you got some unit that was shipped from US to UK before the removing from the spec. In any case, things doesn't change:

1. In other European countries was released with GPS pulled out, and they're getting the dongle anyway;
2. If you buy a prime TODAY in the UK or elsewhere (but not in Italy nor in Greece nor Iceland), you're still elegible for the dongle.

Plus the points I already stated above.

I really hope flying wolf heeds the warning. the dongle is meant to be used pointed towards the sky. THST will give the most accurate results. if you not worried about accurate results then hold it however you want. BUT THE THING NOT TO DO IS HOLD THE TABLET BY THE DONGLE, TO USE AS A HANDLE. because if your screen cracks from that, Asus will not cover it. it will be considered user induced damage. then now you'll have to pay several hundred dollars for a new screen. No matter how sturdy the GPS dongle feels when its locked, DO NOT USE IT AS A HANDLE TO HOLD THE PRIME. you will eventually cause a stress fracture, then that'll lead to larger cracks. then once again ASUS WILL NOT COVER THE SCREEN CRACKING THAT WAY and they'll be able to easily tell it cracked from misuse. always hold with 2 hands or one hand behind tablet for support, like a book.

Sorry Demandarin,

but how would Asus know how i have my held prime? I have a dock that I use many times daily and there would be no way that a crack caused by holding the prime with a dongle would look any different from a possible stress fracture possibly caused by the dock!!

have you had any response to your contact with gary about the geography fiasco relating to the dongle?

I really cannot believe Asus would be so stoooopiiiiiiiiiiiid given all of the efforts that they have made with regard to this.

Given that in italy you tend to have very small cars or luxury supercars in any colour so long it is red then I think that Asus might just be acting in their interests to stop them trying to use it as sat nav as it would cover most of the windscreen in either

Seriously I feel for our Italian neighbours and I reckon that once senior brass hear of this then they will change heir mind, especially as the registration site does state that all tfp owners.....etc
