Personally I haven't tried the original script, but there's a few apps (Chrome, Flipboard, etc.) that essentially require it. I'd like to hear your comparison.
Using original script, i know chrome performance is bad. I believe its performance is significantly better with cache on /datadata but problem with such apps is the cache grows too fast and you will run out space very soon needing frequent cache cleaning.
So i eventually is gave up.
Original script gives a halfway performance. Better than stock but less than 2903 I can say.
