the latest version of kernel messed up the phone and it got stuck in the boot point. could not get it working with the ODIN version either. managed to get it going using fluxi kernel. May be it is a known issue that i did not follow in this thread.

You didn't flash the s3 kernel on your s2, didn't you? Only explanation I can think off, or a bad download.
Right. After extensively testing of every kernel out there. I'm going to give it to you and straight, and spare you the bull****.
To put it simple.. this is by far the best kernel out there (3.3.2 as of now), for everything! Whether it be performance, stability, saving battery etc.. it just does it all.
Since you can't undervolt as aggresively on ICS kernels than GB ones. I find I'm losing about 20-30 minutes of screen on time, but I don't care, ICS is worth it. So on WiFi I get around 6 hrs screen on time, 3G 4-5 hours. Bare in mind I am not just sending one message, and a couple of phone calls all day.. this is seriously heavy usage.
My setup is this.. Screen brightness set to the lowest, backlight buttons switched off, undervolted using Tegrak Overclock Ultimate (200Mhz, 850mA - 300Mhz, 875mA - 400Mhz, 900mA, 500Mhz, 950mA - 600Mhz, 975mA - 700Mhz, 1000mA - 800Mhz, 1050mA, 900Mhz, 1075mA - 1000Mhz, 1125mA - 1100Mhz, 1175mA - 1200Mhz, 1225mA) underclocked to 200Mhz - 400Mhz, lulzactive gov & app set to save maximum battery (also screen off min set as 200Mhz), second core switched off, Resurrection ICS, and gone for the black theme on settings, music, email etc.
There are other kernels like Speedmod, Phenominal.. which are just absolutely useless. Providing absolutely no features such as undervolting, underclocking, dual booting, and foolishly tell you they somehow save power. Don't be fooled, it's complete bull****. These kernels do absolutely nothing to save your battery, or anything at all.. being set as ondemand, 200-1200Mhz, not undervoltaged, and no option to overclock.. is not doing going to do you any favours, either. The kernels listed above are just the ones I can remember off the top of my head, and after wasting my time with them, I literally managed to squeeze 2 hrs or screen on time.. which is ****ing ****. So you might aswell not bother with them! And yes I was calibrated.
Do yourself a favour, don't be wasting anymore time pissing about with kernels, working out which one is best.. because this one just is.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
well maybe voltage values are in mV (millivolt in italian) not in mA(milliamper)?!
just wondering
and...just to clarify: it's written "undervolted" ... not "undervoltaged"!
Okay.. so I'll be flashin NEAT rom with this kernel when my phone is fully charged.
I only have to ask something, did he stop developing this kernel? Because I see in his site that the last release was 2 weeks ago. I'm glad he got his s3 but it wouldnt be fair if he leaves us with no support for this great kernel
Um yeah, it would be fair actually. Gokhan doesn't owe any of us squat. He can do whatever he likes. And he's chosen to get an S3 & concentrate his efforts on making the best kernel he can make for that device.
That's perfectly fair. What's not fair is people on XDA with a sense of entitlement or who think devs 'owe them something'.

No, there is just gonna be a lot less updates than before. Since his wife has the s2 now.
