Default Moving SD from one Surround to Another

I dropped my phone pretty bad...although the screen didn't shatter.....the LCD won't light. It powers on, digitizer works so I can touch and unlock it, sounds work....but no screen.

So, I am ordering a new Surround. If I take the SD from the first and stick it in the second, will everything boot back to where it was on the old or will it screw everything up and I am better off re-installing ALL of that crap back onto the new phone? (just a thought).
Current Phone 1 = HTC Surround
Current Phone 2 = AT&T Tilt 2 (TP2) WM 6.5 OEM
Current Level of Sanity = None ^^

no that won't work. SD cards are married to the device at format. You will need to reformat the card and it will be remarried to the new device.

if you ever had Zune do a backup you -might- be able to restore that backup to the phone if you name it the same...dunno if that works for sure though. I know the memory reported has to be the same because when I changed from one 32 to another 32gb card in my Focus it wouldn't restore because the actual memory reported was different between cards.

Surround is a cool phone though, got one for my dad as his first smartphone and he's pretty blown away.
