I have spent the last week trying out both the Incredikernel HWA Beta 1 and the latest Tiamat ICS HWA kernel. I have found that overall, the Tiamat kernel has smoother scrolling on hardware-drawn menus (most noticeably on the OI File Manager, but noticable on the Settings menu as well). When I am running Incredikernel, these menus judder noticeably while scrolling. However, I also find that Tiamat is incredibly unstable. Even running at stock speeds and stock voltages, I get app crashes, hot starts, and reboots. With Incredikernel, I can both overclock and significantly undervolt and I never get any crashes or reboots.

What are your experiences if you have tried the different kernels? Can you see the juddery scrolling, and do you get crashes/reboots?

I've always have had problems with Taimat being unstable and constantly rebooting on me. I've been using Incredikernel with no crashes or reboots at all and I undervolt it as well while running at 128min 844max with no lag at all. I can open the Settings app and scroll up and down very smoothly. I've been using Smartass V2 for the past day and thinking about trying lazy out to see if I can squeeze any more battery life out.
Overall though, Incredikernel is the best! Hope my experience helps

Have you tried copying the contents of your SD card to your computer, formatting the SD card, then adding your files back to the SD card? That worked for me several months ago when I was having SD card issues.

Anyone else have this issue or is it just me?

I had this same issue when I installed alpha 8. Try updating the su binaries in Superuser and wiping dalvik in recovery. That will fix the problem without having to change any settings in Superuser.

Have you tried scrolling in OI File Manager? The jerkiness is much more obvious there. It is also more obvious if you fling a menu and let it slow down to a stop.

I'll definitely give that a try.

I downloaded it from the play store to give it a try, and it was very jittery like you said at first, but after a few I couldn't get it to jerk anymore. I even quit the app and reopened it and it was smooth for me. I gave it a scroll and it slowed down with no jerks. Sorry man, worked fine for me.

Edit: Oh, I think I know why it's not jerking for me. Under settings->Performance->I disabled "Surface Dithering". I didn't notice any quality issues after rebooting. Give that a try?

Edit2: Nope that didn't change anything. I don't know what that setting does. Didn't notice anything when I enabled it again and rebooted.

For the people who get super fast batter drains in short periods, are you using the incredikernel?

I remembered something this morning. I charged my phone all night and unplugged this morning. I had a 15% drain in about 15 minutes. Then I remembered what I had to do before with incredikernels.
So I charged my phone back to 100 and immediately unplugged it. I am now at 65% after about 9 hours of pretty moderate usage.

I have dithering turned off too. After some more testing, I have found that the Tiamat kernel hardly has any juddering, the "stock" Cayniarb kernel that comes with the ROM has a little bit, and Incredikernel has a lot. I haven't been able to figure out why. I think I will ask Cayniarb what is different between the "stock" and Tiamat kernels.
