If it skipped over the wipe data part and onto step 4.....I don't see how it wiped your phone haha

It's always best to do it in CWM recovery.

Unlocking and relocking the bootloader automatically does a user data wipe. Since it's a mandatory step, the instructions just make that perfectly clear for you. However, if you flash the user data manually, which is an optional step in the instructions, it does the same exact thing.

i successfully flashed the system, userdata, boot images. i did all steps. but when I did that step which said to do "fastboot oem unlock", it failed because it was already unlocked.... what does that mean? that the bootloader was already unlocked? straight out of the box?

Yea the bootloader was already unlocked. Mine was too....thats why I'm saying it skipped over the step and didn't do the wipe etc...just as you said it didn't.

Flashing userdata, however, does do a data wipe:

The problem is that /sdcard on a Galaxy Nexus is just a symlink to /data/media <== This is where the data actually resides. When you flash the userdata image, it overwrites /data so everything there is wiped, including /sdcard..

.
In other words, he ended up doing one anyway, even if the bootloader part was skipped. Also, it's confirmed by efrant that flashing the rom to Yakju will relock the sim, if it was previously locked. It hasn't happened to any of us yet that got the latest shipment from Negri.

Has anyone experienced issues with cellular service in the UK with this nexus?
I just purchased a pay and go card from O2 earlier today and for some odd reason my data is working but it says I am "Out of Service" for the mobile network.

I definitely have the generic IEMI and data is functioning fine.

I can't make any calls. What could cause something like this?

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium

That is caused by the generic imei.. First victim of the generic imei.

You can revert to temp unlock with original imei, there are a few post in this thread about how to

"please help IMEI show as 004999010640000 since new rom

sadly I dont have backup of the files before flashing

I can access data, but I cannot make\ receive phone calls or messages.

please help as this is my only phone?

not sure if I can revert to an older rom, and which one to pick up.

I got mine on orange UK."

Yea - Thanks for helping me out. I didn't read the middle of the thread (My bad, I know). The temp fix for the IMEI did the trick.

DONATE TO ME
As long as the app gets updated for the device, I'm sure it'll be okay with owning this device. I'm sure we'll see a more robust method in the near future as well.
