Default [APP][2.3+] Ultra Wide Live Wallpaper

With most launchers allowing for you to have multiple home screens, why are you still limited to such a small wallpaper? Well, that's about to change with the Ultra Wide HD LWP.

Features
  • Use any size wallpaper you want
  • Crop wallpaper to any size you want
  • Apply various panoramic effects for home screen scrolling
  • Adjust the level of detail for better performance
  • Apply various color/pixel effects with adjustable effect strength
  • Apply special 3D animated effects
  • Use overlays to change the texturing look of the wallpaper
  • Overlay one of several borders

I present to you the release of Ultra Wide HD LWP. Although this makes use of Android's Live Wallpaper API, it is not a battery drainer like most. Unless you are using some of the special effects, the wallpaper is only rendered when transitioning between homescreens. We used a live wallpaper because it offered the flexibility to use much larger images than stock Android allows for with its basic wallpaper.

It's time to throw out the old way of using wallpaper and enter into a new era. One where YOU decide what image to use and how much of it to display. Ultra Wide HD Live Wallpaper is ideal for all devices including tablets and HD displays.

Note: Make sure you have some large and/or panoramic images on your SD card to use this app to it's fullest potential. Here's a link to help you get started tracking down some nice images to use with Ultra Wide HD Live Wallpaper - http://www.scheffsblend.com/hdlwp/page4/page1.html

Requirements
  • Android 2.3 or greater
  • OpenGL ES 2.0 Capable

That seems a bit much yes, especially compared to some other apps you could get for that amount of money.

Nicely done though, but for that price I'll skip too. My ICS experience won't be dramatically damaged without this app. But I can imagine some people are willing to pay this price if they're very bothered with the current "limitations" of the standard Android backgrounds.

Yeah, don't get me wrong but it is a good-looking app that fits the need well. But, I can't justify spending $2.99 to simply add a background. If it were $0.99 then I think more people would consider it. Call me cheap, but I'm very selective with the money I spend toward Android apps.

At least on the samsung epic 4g touch, the scrollable options sit over top of the "set wallpaper" and "options" buttons at the bottom of the screen. Until this is fixed, it is not usable at all for me. (lite version - of course)

edit:
I know that I tried backing out of the options and it went all the way out of the app. After I updated it worked. Either way I am just chalking it up to user error. I don't know that I would use all of the features, but this seems to be a well written app. thanks to the OP for your response.

The free version limits the image quality settings - which means I can't really tell how good this WP will look unless I buy the full version. Which means I have to buy, then try, then refund within the window if I am not pleased.

Good concept, but the images looks poor on the free version, not buying the paid version just to "see" if it looks better.

And what is with the watermark? Do you think anyone will use the free version with that in place? Also, it takes away from the beauty of the app, and will leave a bad impression (IMO..)

Put ads in the free version to justify supporting it, and get rid of the watermark.

I believe this is probably a great app.. seems like the features are extensive. But the price is too high, and I'm not buying it just to try it

thanks
