That is very strange. I recommend finding the developer's thread on the zergrush root method and try to get in touch with him about the bug.

I did this but when I got to the ./sbf_flash mb809-2.3.5.sbf part, I was denied access. I don't remember exactly what it said but it said I didn't have permission to run that command. Anyone know what I may have missed?

Either use the sudo su commad or place sudo in front of ./sbf_flash

I performed this sbf root method and I'm pretty sure it worked fine. I've got Milestone X .604 and root. However, somehow in the process I lost the ability to boot into CWM recovery. I tried flashing in ROM Manager and it doesn't work. The phone just reboots to the red M logo.

I can get to the Android recovery by holding the Home button and then pressing both volume buttons at the !, but that's it.

Holding the volume down button on boot just makes it sit there and do nothing.

Any ideas?

If you can't get passed the Motorola logo, I believe you will have to SBF.
