Renaming or replacing should do the trick
Thanks so much. I have peace now with my quiet phone.

Here's my full power silence instructions now. I'll probably find that script runner app and make a little widget for myself.

Code:
mount -o rw,remount /system
cd /system/etc
mv PowerOn.ogg PowerOn.ogg.bak
cd /system/media/audio/ui
mv Charger_Connection.ogg Charger_Connection.ogg.bak

On v16, I've seen my phone "give out" one or two times requiring a reboot to get signal back.

Anyone else seen that? Maybe it's a modem thing? Also, I'm sure other things can trigger this like a loose SIMM. Or a dying antenna. Yuck.

One more post...

Does anyone know how to keep the screen from turning on when the phone is plugged in?

It may seem strange, but I'd like to be able to plug my phone in without the screen turning on.

Thanks!

Only way to do this if you have a transparent lockscreen and nothing on your homescreen.

Does anyone else see a massive change in battery level after rebooting with this ROM? The phone will show 50 to 60% battery but after a reboot it's down to 13%.

I suspect the 13% is an erroneous reading, because it seems to charge back up to 50% very quickly.

Btw... Stock battery, reset battery stats etc. Any other suggestions?

Thats just how it is with our phones. If you reboot under a certain % thats what happens. It will fix itself.
Or if you reboot with the phone plugged in charging it shoudlnt do that. Entropy had a post about this somewhere

That used to happen to me. Just charge the phone fully once or twice then it'll stop.
Or flash another kernel.

that wont stop it. its a problem with the fuel gauge on our phone not reading voltage correctly or somethin like that

This has nothing to do with charging fully or using another kernel.

When you reboot below 75% on heavy load there is a bigger chance the fuel gauge will miscalculate and give you the wrong reading.
You do not actually loose battery, its just read back to you wrong.

To prevent this, connect the charger when rebooting and it wont happen.
The good thing about this, is we do not have to calibrate the battery after flashing a rom.

The battery life on this rom v16 is the best I've ever seen.
right now im at 1 day 11 hrs 26 minutes with 3:42 screen time on and 51 minutes call time on and still have 6% of my battery left. I like to never run it down this low but I just couldnt find a sec to plug it in all day.
