I found a way for me to keep notification sounds after a phone call. I went to developer options and clicked "limit background processes" and set it to "no background processes"... Phone went slow for a minute and then all is good for me so far. Maybe this can help you figure out the problem.

Edit: Scratch that, worked for a minute or so but not anymore... this is a slippery bug

Just tried this and notification came in after making a call and sending myself a text right after.

Sent from some phone.

Also can you tell me if you have vibrate and ring checked under sounds settings
I was not still in the messaging app. I turned off the phone and waited for the notification. All I got was blinking led. Yes, I had vibrate and ring checked under sounds.

I still had the iphone app active when I tried this.

For the sake of Science I deleted the iphone notifications app and immediately sent a text to myself. End result was ZERO notifications. This was with the stock messaging app set to notify as well as Handcent. Neither gave tone or vibrated. Next I reinstalled the iphone app, sent myself a text and everything worked as it should. Tone and vibration.

Looks like a solid work around is the iphone notifications app.

Sent from some phone.

Maybe it has something to do with the recovery used to flash the rom. I used Rogue. I will install a different recovery and retry

using go sms since the first leak...and using as dd, only stock rooted. doesnt matter when.

after a reboot with no notifications....wouldn't work

go sms: wouldnt work when this happened

stock ring tones after fresh install: wouldnt work

calls didnt seem to chane the notification state

email notifications never seemed to have an issue for me, i do get emails every 10-15 mins

i could not find any ways to fix notifications when erroring out, just had to wait until it started working again.

updated to fc18......havent really had the issue.<--------just a thought

---------- Post added at 05:52 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:51 AM ----------

however when i was having the issue, i would try doing fresh install and making no user changes, or even sign into google user account for that matter and no change.

Im using Calks stock FC18 rom, stock kernel, and stock modem.. Deodexed.. I havent experienced any loss of notifications whatsoever. Installed google voice just to see if my notifications would come to a halt, but its all good on this end.. Placed some calls then texted google and still getting all of my notifications. Been using all of the leaks from diff devs but everything always worked from the get go

I was on Stock FC18, came from EL29 used the format all script and had no issues with notifications. Yesterday I upgraded to FC22 and now I have lost notifications. I did not do a full wipe, just cleared cache and dalvik . I have to reboot to get notifications back after making Phone call. I am on Stock kernel FC22.
