Wins what? How does Apple have anything to do with anything at all in this situation? And who is being shafted? Any item you buy, you buy it as is. It isn't Samsung's problem that you aren't getting what you expected the product to eventually be.
This tablet has 2 features that people should be interested in, the screen and the battery life. It is aimed at avid media consumers and ICS adds zero functionality to video, book, music, or game playback. This is the same old dance that happens with every device known to man. People freak about a lack of updates, it gets updated, people are happy (or disappointed), and then indifferent, and then they start complaining about the next "missing" update. This even happens on forums for heavily supported devices like the original EVO 4G.
People seem to put so much weight on the home screen lag. Why? How does it affect the user experience in any way? Apps, games, and media run perfectly. I guess I just use my tablet for more than shuffling between home screens. IDK.
I wish people would just enjoy the best, prettiest, and best-built tablet on the market. All of those being subjective opinions, of course. ICS will come, but until then just enjoy the damn thing.

If they were released the same day, I would go with the Excite. But it's been a third of a year...a lifetime in cutting edge tech.
