k i have an evo 3d that i got today off fleabay so i check its s on and running 1.5 hboot so i go ahead and start the process as it is here for downgrading and getting s-off
i do the check ahead of time and it reads it and looks like every thing is going well i get to the point of bricking my phone and it goes as planned but now that its bricked the live cd will not reconize the phone ive tried 2 diff computers with no luck what can i possibly do to at least get back into it being a usable phone
it just sits at step one waiting for device
when i hook it up in windows it shows as qhsusb_dnload
if its showing that usb dnload thing can the sprint store reflash it as if it was a bad ota update
Hi warstoke. First, have you pulled the battery out of your phone? The battery cannot be in while doing the downgrade. Make sure that you're holding the Vol - button as you're plugging in the phone. After it recognizes the device and flashes once, it'll ask you to unplug the phone, press enter, and repeat the process again. After that's done, pressing enter should take you back to the main menu.
If this is not working, ensure that the phone is truly bricked. Insert the battery, and wait about 8 seconds. Press the power button. If the screen powers on, you aren't bricked unfortunately. If you get a solid dim light (or no light at all), you should be able to unbrick the device.
If that doesn't work, pull out the battery and put it back in. Now connect the phone up to the AC adapter (not a USB port on your computer) and let it charge for a few hours.
I'm sure that the phone is fine. Because you got your phone from somewhere else, Sprint will likely not service it. I wouldn't worry about that at this point though.
I hope this helps,

I would guess that the phone will still work. There are some cases where the CD won't work on some hardware. The solution has been to simply use a different computer. It may still simply be a case of the battery being dead, and/or, the phone isn't bricked. Now, if you bricked a phone that was S-OFF already, then it's permabricked (without jtagging the phone).
Just a note, if the phone wasn't already on the account, I'm not sure if they will do anything. I'm not sure what to say there.
Sorry,

I'm sure that the phone is fine. Because you got your phone from somewhere else, Sprint will likely not service it. Just redo all steps. I wouldn't worry about that at this point though.
