I think I figured out why some devices I owned seemed to have it - I think that while Google removed it from gapps it IS installable on ICS, AND it is installable as a user app instead of system - at some point I must've TiBu-restored it.

So if you don't want to reflash it after each upgrade, try installing it as a user app.

I'm using the carhome apk from aokp and it doesn't work as a user app. i see carhome in the market, but it isn't available on my phone's market.
Using the aokp one works great as a system app though. just gets cleared with each nightly. Weird Google would drop support for it. i remember the car dock being a flagship feature of their early Google phone.

Ever since the 5/7 nightly, I've been having issues with my contacts...
I'll hit the phone icon to make a call and I get a popup notification saying "contacts has stopped working"

Happens on 5/7, 5/8, 5/9 nightly... I have to go into "people" and call them that way. Weird. Been wiping cache and dalvik before every wipe, never had any issues before except this.

It works ok if I revert back to the 5/6 nightly.
Stock kernel.

Any ideas?

I haven't seen this problem, running 5/9 nightly. Are you running some other kind of app that deals with your contacts?

I haven't been able to see my 5Ghz network at home ever since flashing this. I was reading the AOKP thread and they have the fix in their FAQ's. May I ask why CM9 does not include the fix? Simply changing the two files in question from "GB" to "US" fixed it. GB stands for Great Britain & US for, duh. I'm sure this would be an issue for people outside of USA so maybe that's why?

only thing i can think of is Go Launcher, but I only use it for the clock/weather widget, not contacts...don't even have the Go Contacts installed actually.

Shrug, guess I'll just stay on 5/6 and keep trying new nightly releases till it goes away haha

Well I had one random issue last night...

Right off the bat, I'm running Siyah kernel at the moment. I put my phone on the charger at about 11pm when I was heading to bed. I woke up at 3am to use the restroom, decided to check my phone, and when I turned the screen on, the lock screen clock was "stuck" at 11pm, I unlocked it and the clock in the status bar was also "stuck" at 11pm. The weird thing is the phone was completely usable (ie not locked up). A reboot fixed it easy enough, but I use my phone as my alarm for the morning, and having the clock freeze means it won't go off. Anyone else experience this?

Anyone knows how to enable the "Backup Account" option under the "Backup & Reset" setting? This used to work fine in the early builds but I haven't seen it enabled in a while. Now Even when I activate the backup option, I cannot select any account to back it up to. I am on 5/8 now but I don't think it matters much because I've been having this issue since at least 4/20 or earlier.

The 4/22 gapps had a messed up GoogleBackupTransport.apk. The 4/29 gapps fixed that. Flashing 4/29 fixed it for me.
