USB Host Adapter

I purchased the official Samsung 30pin USB host adapter for the 7.7. It comes in a box with a separate adapter for memory cards. The USB adapter works perfectly for reading thumb drives but sadly does not detect my Xbox360 controller. The Xbox button keeps flashing constantly without actually getting recognized by the tablet so Honeycomb's built in USB Host support for controllers is useless on the 7.7

I am very disappointed.

What version of honeycomb are you running on your tab? I don't actually have a 7.7, so I'm not sure what specific version it comes with. From memory, game controller support wasn't added to honeycomb until 3.2.1 or something like that. It didn't actually come with the initial version of 3.2, which is what I think the tab 7.7 runs when stock. I may be wrong about this, might be worth googling to check.

there are probably apps out there that can load xbox controller drivers for you though. Check the marketplace.

Whoops, I was completely wrong. Game controller support wasn't present on the initial 3.0, but 3.2 should have it. Sorry about the misinformation.

better check some youtube videos of users with GTab 7.7, i have seen plenty of them using a Wired X360 controller and i think i even saw one user using a Wireless X360 controller using the X360 Wireless receiver connected to the GTab 7.7

I've not tested a controller yet but my USB mouse works just fine using the USB connector that came with my tab

the one on the right side. I was surprised that the tab shipped with the adapter.
