So no one has a right to bitch? We are all just supposed to take what we can get and be grateful, even if it doesn't work? Even if it doesn't work at all?
My issue with open source are not limited to this particular developer or his ROM. The trouble is with no one in charge thing that need to be done frequently don't get done. Things that should remain cohesive instead become hopelessly fragmented. Details that can't be overlooked frequently are.
What is needed is a measure of cooperation and teamwork, with at least one public rep other than the developer to keep track of mundane but 100% necessary details like revisions, documented and links to files. I understand the developers are busy but one man operations just don't cut it.
The other issues I have with open source are pointed more towards Linux and the general RTFM attitude of the way-too-cool peeps who populate the support forums. I honestly haven't encountered as much of that attitude here.
Still, this ROM was the only one I have found that actually worked, then it disappears with no way given to find it, only a completely useless iteration can be downloaded. Someone should be keeping track of these things.
Just the fact that the developer and/or the xda mods have some kind of issue between them that keeps the dev from starting a thread here is proof positive of the general validity of my enema remark. The idea the we have to sneak into Rootzwiki unannounced to even DL the ROM is also absurd and indicative of an overarching disorder in this community.
Your saying "if you don't like it, learn to make your own ROM" ...I can't, and/or I don't have the time. What I do have the time to do is explain to my peers that Androids phones are a risky hit or miss proposition that will subject the user to the adolescent whims of a truly bizarre class system.
