[Q] if i buy a nook tablet now, what am i gonna do?

several months ago, my brother bought a nook tablet, he didn't know how to root it, but i did, and i rooted it by using this method
i just followed the tutorial and didn't look at the version, so i don't know was it 1.4.0 or 1.4.1. but i successfully rooted it.
that's my brother's nook tablet, not mine, he played with it a week and get bored, he returned to the store and bought an ipad

now i go to this forum and i see a lot of changes on this tablet, like "version 1.4.1 cannot be rooted", "they updated to version 1.4.2", ...

and i want to buy a nook tablet 16 GB / 1GB RAM now,
but i'm worried about after i buy it, what am i gonna do? what version is it now? will i be able to root it like what i did several months ago?

You can root any 16gb you buy on 1.4.2 and before using this method
