Do you keep the phone plugged into the PC when you're doing the installs via CWM? Could Odin or the USB drivers (or Kies if its running in the background) be locking the directories & preventing them being written to?

Have you tried using "Fix Permissions" in CWM?

I know you are doing full wipe, and that this shouldn't be relevent... but you gotta try everything really in order to eliminate possibilites...

Also, as in my previous response, have you tried installing a stock ICS ROM to see what happens?

Default Same issue

I came upon this thread by googling my problem. Its pretty much the same: i was on checkrom v6 (XWLA4) with the cf-root kernel that came with it. Then i wanted to flash an ics rom that i found and liked (f1 galaxynexus rom) and i did the usual wiping, formatting and flashed and i came upon the same bootloop. The logo just sits there mocking me . I tried flashing an old stock ics build i had and rooted it with the appropriate cf-root kernel. I went to cwm again, wipe and flash and.. nothing but bootloop. I tried flashing it again from cwm, no result. All i can do know is flash checkrom or cm7.1 via cwm or the same old ics stock build via odin.
What doesnt work is the f1 rom and another rom called the gingermod rom, also bootloop situation. any suggestions? Azur did you find a fix?

Thank you all.

I decided to go the same route as azure and flashed the latest cm9 nightly in cwm coming off an old stock ics (XXLPB) build rooted with cf-root. Sure enough i had the same problem but i managed to fix it by flashing another bootloader called I9100_APBOOT_I9100XXKP2_CL17109_REV02_eng_mid_ship .tar which is an ics bootloader if i remember correctly. So i think you should, azure. Let us know how it goes.
