Default [MOD] [ICS] [CM9] Ghost/Phantom VVM 100% *PERMAFIX*

I came across the fix that tbob ported to the og epic and figured Id try to use it, it worked (no ghost VVM ever, not even after reboot/reconnect). Only problem was the "answer circle" didnt align and was cut in half.
So I decided to port it over to the epic touch, and it came out pretty good, please if you download and have the ghost VVM problem, let me know how much you enjoy the fix.
Note, you will still get the 9016 text messages, fix, block 9016.

This file is based on alpha2's phone.apk.

Installation instructions

1: download the file above

2: use es file explorer, under the settings menu make sure there's a check next to UP TO ROOT, ROOT EXPLORER, and MOUNT FILE SYSTEM

3: navigate to /system/app and rename the existing phone.apk by replacing the .apk with .bak

4: move the phone.apk you downloaded into the /system/app folder... long press on it so that you can change its permission to rw-r--r--

5: go to the cache/dalvik-cache folder and delete the SYSTEM@APP@PHONE.APK@CLASSES.DEX file

6: reboot

This is before the port, and what I would see when getting a call, but the good thing was I didnt get VVM messages. And now that problem has been squashed also, enjoy.

There are many ways to block 9016 text messages, but here is a simple way.
Text BLOCK 9016 to 9999, you should get a confirmation text.

Not sure of if you are aware but when you receive a call the answer icon is switch with a vibration icon. Or is this the way CM9 always is?

DONATE TO ME
Team ERA, good idea for starting a thread for this fix. I posted this same fix in darch's cm9 experimental thread before it got derailed. It probably got buried before anyone could see it.

The phone.apk differs on AOKP, and probably Codename. Attached are the modded apks for these roms (AOKP build 28 and CNA 3/20) if you'd like to put them in a zip in the OP. This would cover the current aosp offerings, which some users would probably appreciate.

I do have a question though. This mod is a smali edit in the classes.dex. Since we are making this edit, I thought we also had to remove the old phone.apk entry in /caches/dalvik-cache (ie wipe dalvik-cache) and reboot so it can be rebuilt with the new phone.apk. If I'm wrong in my understanding, please let me know; I'm always willing to learn something new.

Thank you for posting the apk's. Im actually going to remake the one I posted, gonna do it the right way this time, tbob18 has showed me the way
As for clearing cache, yes its always a good idea before installing a system app, but I have installed both ways no problems. Ideally, yes.
Once I fix the cm9 apk, Ill add all 3 to the OP and maybe mention it in general, I dont know if this should be in the dev section, but I do see other modded apk's in there.
