Thanks for making this rom - I flashed it but noticed:

1.) The version of Google talk that has A/V working I usually flash after an upgrade no longer works. Does anyone have a working A/V enabled Google talk that is compatible with this FC09 rom?

2.) Before flashing this, I had about 60MBs free in my /data, but after flashing Android started complaining becayse I had 20MBs free - why would flashing this reduce my free /data by almost 40MBs?

I reverted back to my nandroid of EC30, but I would like to try this rom again if I can get the above two issues addressed. Thanks for any help!

It has ALL the bloat in this. Delete some system apps. FC09 had more junk in it. Just find the gtalk with video and push it to system. This is a stock ROM and did not have gtalk with video. The bloat apps listed at the bottom of the first post of The People's ROM has the gtalk with video.

Using Titanium backup or root explorer delete talk.apk from your system\app directory then flash this.

Please excuse my ignorance, but why would removing the bloat apps in /system affect /data? Also, again, I don't understand why my stock EL30 would lose 40MBs in /data when I thought this rom was putting files in /system? Thanks for the Gtalk link, and enlightening me.

Nothing is flashed to data partition in this ROM. Look in the zip. Only system in there. My guess is you have data duplicating or corrupting. Wipe data and advance restore from nandroid.

I've had a bad nandroid do this once. It restored data "successfully" but I had like half of the apps installed afterwards, yet my /data was full.

I thought this was a great idea, but the same result - when I did an advanced nandroid data only restore while on FC09, it again left me with only 20MBs free (CWM 5.0.2.7). I did a full nandroid restore back to EL30 again, and I had 50+MBs free. I am at a loss now. :-/

Me too unless when you boot one of the stock apps is setting up caches in the data partition. Move to MTD and gain almost 200MB of space. I noticed Sprint moved some things into a link that loads when you click it like Asphalt and something else. That may be what's cacheing. Why not try The People's ROM 2.2?

Finally got around to doing this. Made a nandroid backup, and installed the MTD version of this rom, converting me from BML. I then converted my backup by renaming all references from rfs in the nandroid folder & md5 to yaffs2. Doing an advanced restore got me back to where I was with around 170MBs free in my /data - awesome. I then finished up by flashing the Roboto font, removing Talk.apk from /system/app and flashing the zip you posted a few up, flashing the GPS fix, and finally flashing my own CRT off animation. Everything is excellent - thanks for the MTD rom and advice! I still am a fan of straight up stock with a few changes, and the community still caters to my tastes!
