Downloading now! Very much appreciated friend. I'll post the recovery.img when I get it pulled. And when I get everything up and working properly as far as being able to revert to stock, I'll let you know. Finally get to test ICS soon!

Yes! I'd love to test out the ICS as well. Can't wait.

I couldn't figure out a way to pull that information without rooting the kernel first, and thus making my phone non-stock to try and capture stock. If you guys have these files, could I please get a copy from you? That would be really fantastic. Send me a PM or whatever, and if there's anything you could use from me I have a nandroid backup of completely stock except the recovery module and non-rooted kernel.

I wouldn't mind getting the stock Bell modem... The ones floating around here do not seem to work.

Just making some final changes to it between studying for finals and keeping my 9 month old happy. I've almost got an Odin-flashable ready. Stay tuned.

Edited 11-Apr-2012 2310

Files are ready. Just taking a while to upload. Once uploaded, will post links. Might be in the morning, Newfoundland time. Sorry for the delay.

Default Stock Bell Galaxy Note (i717M) Files

All fixed up!

Alright, files are finally uploaded. First, these are stock files pulled from two different Bell Notes (mine and marshals so that we could get everything stock). Second, and marshals just pointed this out to me, the system.img.ext4 might actually be rooted and not completely stock (hence the -ish). But I figured I took all the time to upload these, I'll share them anyway. Besides, the root shouldn't prevent anyone who uses these from grabbing OTA updates from Bell, which was the goal of my project with ICS supposedly being released in May. I've managed to remove the root from the stock system.img.ext4 and have recreated the packages. If anyone still wants to old zips with the root intact, please PM me as I don't have enough space on my Dropbox to host both sets of files. Anyway, the files...

First, we have pda-odin-bell-stock.zip which contains the system.img.ext4, boot.img, and recovery.img. This will put most of your Note back to stock (possibly with a root though, see above). Flash via Odin's pda option.

Second, we have pda-odin-bell-stock-system-boot.zip which contains only the system.img.ext and boot.img. Flash via Odin's pda option. Useful for going back to stock but keeping CWM if you've flashed it previously. And that's especially useful for resetting your flash counter using braway's method. If you choose to go this route, you can then return recovery to stock via this method using just the recovery.img file in the archive here.

Third, we have phone-odin-bell-stock-radio.zip which contains the stock Bell radios. Flash via Odin's phone option.

(Please be aware that the above files that I made are in zip archives for uploading/downloading purposes and the tars should be extracted before use. Not trying to be condescending, just thorough with information to make the process as easy as possible for anyone of any skill level to use these files)

And finally, the stock Bell kernel can be obtained from this thread thanks to Da_G. Flash via Odin's pda option.

Now, a disclaimer. By downloading and using these files, you agree that nobody other than yourself is responsible for what you do with your Note. If something goes wrong, only you can be held responsible for what you've done. Not me, marshals, braway, Da_G, or anyone else on this forum or any other!

Also, keep in mind that I have not personally used these files yet because I'm still playing with DAGr8's ICS alpha 2 on my Note and only have one device. These files were extracted from stock Notes, prepped into tar's in linux, and loaded into Odin to check for errors (none reported).

Enjoy!!!

Special thanks to
marshals for pulling the system.img.ext4, boot.img, and radios from his Note.
braway for taking my constant questions and providing much needed guidance in my first developer-ish project as well as for the flash counter reset.
Da_G for the stock Bell kernel, instructions on using Odin, and indirectly showing me how to mount system.img.ext4 in linux to remove the root and repack it.

I'll take a look into removing the root later today or tomorrow. Need to write an exam first Exam done, root removed.
