Question Heat Problem, and failure to detect Sim Card related?!

just got my phone yesterday in the morning (about 30 hrs ago)..

here is the problem..

yesterday night, my phone suddenly gave me a "No sim card found Please insert a sim card into the phone." message. Thinking it was nothing, i switched off my phone and went to bed.

This morning, when i on my phone, the same problem came back..

This problem is resolved temporary by restarting the phone.

Upon rebooting the phone, the sim card will be detected, but withing 30mins, the phone will fail to detect the sim card and display the above error message again.

I went to my provider today and they gave me a new sim card but the problem persists..

I am starting to suspect that the problem is related to the heat from the phone.

The problem occurred the first time when my phone was very hot. the problem went away when i was at the shop and the battery temperature was 25 Oc.. (air con environment)

leaving the shop and returning to my home, the battery maintained a cool 35 Oc..

the moment it hit 45+ oC, the phone failed to detect my sim card again..

has anyone have the same problem as me?

may i ask what is the general battery temperature range of your phones? and if anyone has had similar problems?

really need help here as a phone exchange is not possible in the short-term because the service provider is currently prioritizing sales and would not release a phone for exchange when the new unit could be a potential sales..

(PS, i was wondering if high temperature could have caused expansion of metallic internal parts, causing connections between the sim and phone to become loose or disconnected..)

EDIT: added 5th april 2012:

================================================== ================================================== ===============

possible reason for sim card problem..

just to check...

can u guys use the "turn on radio" "turn off radio" button in the *#*#4636#*#* android debug menu?

my phone has the failure to detect sim card problem and i realized that it might not actually be the heat that is causing it..

whenever the phone drops the sim card, i now hold the power button to check if the phone has switched to airplane mode... the answer is NO, the phone did not switch to airplane mode..

BUT... in the *#*#4636#*#* debug menu, the GSM radio is off and i cant switch it on using the "Turn On Radio" button...

(BIG WARNING... u might messed up your phone and made your phone become like mine...)

and without charging it stays around 35'c

same here..

i guess my sim card slot is a bit loose, causing the sim card to loss contact with the pins in the phone..

I had issues today with my similar not allowing me to register on network. My sim was an old mini sim cut with a proper sim cutter. I had it replaced with a proper micro sim by my provider and now all is fine.

Worth double checking if you have an older or cut sim , my provider swapped it free of charge so hopefully yours would do the same

then i inserted the sim card .... enabled and disabled the airplane mode and sim got detected.... so i dont think we need to restart the phone to make it detect sim card

you sure u inserted the sim correctly ?? and if u have any other micro sim which is in working condition... then try tht sim card

i tried that too.. sometimes it appears, other times it dun.. mostly when the phone is hot chances of the sim card going "missing" increases...

try this......

if u can get the sim card panel of some other one x then try it on your phone and also try ur sim card panel on other the phone.... and so the same thing for sim card also....... that will narrow it down to the exact problem

show it to HTC and get it replaced ....... and if it is major issue then i think they will have to replace it!
