Browser after ICS Update is Worse

I'm not enjoying the new browser on ICS on my GS II (O2 update)

Firsly, has ICS removed the ability to double tap to resize text in the browser? The only option I see which remotely allows me to do this is the "Auto-fit pages" under "Advanced" in "Settings" and thid resizes text while I am zoomed out. I really dislike this option as before, I liked to to see the entire webpage and I would double tap to resize the text in the desired part of the page. Have I missed an option which is similar to the browser in Gingerbread?

Also, the browser felt smoother before the update. Are there methods to rectify the problems I have mentioned?

Im on CM9 which i believe is the same browser and i have just tested double tap and it works fine for me. After loading a google search i double tapped to zoom in and again back out.

Have you run browsermark? Then see which one is faster...
