Default [Q] - Help with Hard Reset

The device is a Motorola Droid and it is completely bare bones STOCK. I wasn't "allowed to play" with this one! It is my fiancé's old phone and she wants to sell it.

Problem - I've tried both the hardware and software methods to hard reset it. Both methods get stuck on the black Motorola logo splash screen. I've attempted both methods numerous times with the same result. I have searched xda and google, but haven't found an answer. I've found similar threads, but they relate to rooted phones and the update.zip seems to be the fix.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...thank you for your time.

Did you check droid forums on how to do a hard reset?

I would also try updating the phone cause that could be part of the issue. If you are worried about personal info like pictures and contacts being taken you could possibly try rooting it and plugging your phone into the computer and wipe all the information manually in windows explorer. I do not know if a root is necessarily required though. Also try contacting the carrier or manufacturer.

Cheers
