Thanks for the share! I'll have to say, this official ROM considerably smoother and more responsive than any of the custom and leaked ICS ROMs I've tried in the past 2 months.

Is it just me or did Sony remove the notification light for SMS messages?

Whenever I get a SMS, the light no longer blinks. When I go into the SMS settings page, I don't see an option to enable it (could have sworn it was there in 4.0.3).

Anyone else?

LOL! The poster was informing everyone that he was in the process of uploading the update.zip file, which is to be flashed using CWM.

can the 4.0.4 update for arc be rooted for locked bootloader?

I haven't updated to ICS myself so I can't answer that. But if you want flash a kernel, use flashtool or adb.

well ok, that's am img file we would need to install it being in fastboot probably..

it'll be like flash 4.0.4
then flash this img in fast boot (for cwm)
then flash RootExploitOneClick to get root

Edit: didn't worked for me as i have locked bootloader and dont want to unlock it, it would work for unlocked ones

edit: yes they are the same as size is same, just different names!! i guess i got it how to root for now

no, you need to go back to 4.0.3, root it and than you some how keep the root with hot boot.
