Default [Q] Dust Under Screen Possibility...

Ever since I got my Sensation and I learned and experienced for myself, the dust under the screen issues... I really started hating HTC. I really feel (and still do) that the Sensation was one of the sexiest looking smartphones ever designed, so I was truly sad to realize that it was plagued by such a design flaw...

Now I ask, former Sensation owners and others.... are you afraid about the Sensation issues following suite and plaguing future phones, such as the One S?

I think this can only be answered in a few weeks, when a sufficient number of devices have hit owners' hands and we see if the issue occurs or not. Speculation until then is not going to accomplish much.

But we know that even without testing.... for example, the Galaxy Nexus' chance of having dust under the screen is almost impossible, because the glass and the digitizer is fused together....

I don't know if the same applies for the One S, or if the same technology is carried over from the Sensation.

I read about this in one of the reviews on tech blogs, and the fused screen assembly does apply for the One S - hence the thinness. So if this makes the issue improbable, I guess there's our answer.

just found this thread after receiving my one s today and noticing something under the bottom right touch button

best described as a smudge/as if someone has used a marker pen under the right button, clearly visible when the button light comes up

sending mine back and getting it replaced, hope it's just a one off as it's really not meant to be like it is

Default HTC One S

I have my HTC One S for the last week and I can tell you I've yet to notice any dust under the digitizer. It seems like the amoled screens have to be fuzed to the digitizer because that's how my GS2 was and no dust under that one. I only keep a body glove feather case on it for extra grip. No screen protector or anything else and it stays in my pocket. No problems as of yet.

Dust under the screen is not an issue with amoled screens.

I work in a paper factory and my poor phone has been covered in paper dust. I just wipe it off and it looks like new. No dust under my screen.

There nothing inherent in AMOLED screens that prevents dust - my HTC Desire was full of dust a the end.

Super AMOLED, however, which the One S has, with a fused screen & digitiser should be immune to dust under the screen.
