There's a 5 and 12 pin adapter.. any difference I may know?

I have the 12pin and my wife has the 5pin. The 5pin works but it's really touchy with our plug. The slightest move of the plug can disconnect the contacts. So I went and bought the 12pin and all is well.

Chuck Norris can but Walker Texas Ranger can't.
